Experienced Furniture Packer/Loader Branch 03 (Norman Wells, NWT)
General Description:
- Pack personal effects into cartons. Examples: clothing, linens, dishes, books and other household effects
- Laying out of floor runners at residence
- On site clean up at residences of packing debris and carton removal
- Taking inventory of articles being moved noting existing defects or scratches
- Disassemble and assemble household items such as beds and tables as required for safe movement
- Pad wrap and properly load household goods in both vans and containers
- Breaking down of packing material, folding pads, and other general warehouse duties including sweeping
- Assist in freight and flight operations as required
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary to complete assignments
- A class 5 license may be required to drive pack vans to transport crew members and materials to job sites
- Must be willing to complete training in forklift operation, TDG and various on job trainings to facilitate the diversity of this position
- Other duties as assigned
Work Experience and Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to safely lift and carry weights of 10 to 50 lbs without assistance, and 50 to 100 lbs plus with a second man. Proper lifting techniques must be used at all times.
- Have the ability to kneel for extended periods, walk on uneven surfaces, climb ladders, safely exit trailers, trucks and other surfaces, lift arms above shoulder, do repetitive hand work, and have full use of both hands.
- The ability to read instructions and complete paperwork accurately
- Will also require working in both hot and cold environments transferring materials to vans and containers from customers residence
This is a full time 3 months contract position with an excellent remuneration package including northern allowance.

Experience Freight Handler Branch 05 (Yellowknife, NWT)
General Description:
- Loading and Unloading of freight
- Delivering freight
- Accurate completion of paperwork
- Participation in safety and training initiatives as required
- Customer service aptitude
- Cleaning and organizing the warehouse
- Unloading Northbound freight shipments
- Preparing deliveries
- Unloading trailers
- Palletizing product
- Other duties as assigned
Work Experience and Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to safely lift and carry weights of 10 to 50 lbs without assistance, and 50 to 100 lbs plus with a second man
- Must be able to push and pull dollies which are fully loaded
- Have the ability to kneel for extended periods, walk on uneven surfaces, climb ladders, jump down from trailers, trucks and other surfaces, lift arms above shoulders, do repetitive hand work, and have full use of both hands.
- The ability to complete paperwork as per policy and procedure
- Will also require working in both hot and cold environments
- Work overtime as necessary to complete assignments
- Successfully pass a yearly driver observation ride-a-long
- Experience in driving a 5-ton body job with Manual Transmission
- Fork Lift experience
